YO GEORGIANS! :)

@PapaChaz

I've never seen this before. I recall they stayed on the ground. This one (there was a pair) was lying on the ground outside the coop. It didn't even flinch as I walked past. About a foot away from it. I even went back inside the house to get my phone and it stayed there long enough for me to get a shot of it. Weird.

It's a Snipe. Go get a pillowcase.

And don't forget the metal pan and wooden spoon!

Really, y'all?! I've never seen or heard of it. And if they're that mean, then this one is a trick bird. I got all up in it's FACE. LOL
It did nothing. Then it suddenly got up and skittered away. That was about 2 weeks ago. Haven't seen it since. I'm glad it didn't try to scratch my face off.

I'm assuming they fly? Because every time I've seen them, which is only in the last few weeks in generally the same area, they're lying on the ground or stay pretty low.

aha! I told my husband it looked sorta dove-like the first time I saw them. I googled snipes and the beaks are too long. I'm gonna do some more hunting. :)

yup. Mourning Dove. I've never seen them before. They're cool looking. Crazy that it didn't seem to be bothered by my presence at all. I zoomed the pic and it looks like it's pretty young(?).

is there a metal roofing dealer in Rome? We had two here, one just went out of business. They will cut it the lengths you want. Tell them you don't have to have a 'warranty' and usually you'll get a discount. Also, find out if they have any 'seconds', those are always a bit cheaper too. You can get what ever screws you need from them cheaper too, all of this cheaper than buying from either of the big box stores
What is the name that is good info thanks!!
