Been watching Mama Mal closely today (what WILL I do when I have to go back to work!)..

She is really doing great. By now I feel certain if the wing was going to cause any serious issue it would already. But she has finally started to swim more and is darting after bugs and such on the shore.. And does the happy-butt wiggle when she catches one. LOL!

This is pictures of my EE and as said I found one crowing today, and being amateur as I am trying to determine if they are roosters or hens, if roosters then will need to make some changes. Any help or information is appreciated they are going on 16 weeks, and the tail feathers look similar to my roo. So anybody, rooster or hen ?

@flowerbh remember that little mystery chick you gave me with the OE and CCL? This is her now! She's turned out really cool looking. She has a head poof that makes her look perpetually furious, and really well feathered legs! Very pretty gold and black coloration too.

I would make sure to set any treats down in front of this one FIRST........she looks like she'd get after you if you didn't!

I noticed another of the white leghorns squatting today, so I should start getting a couple of eggs a day soon. still just seeing the ameraucana hens run away....

Hi everyone! Am I nuts, or does anyone else think this Marans looks a little rooster-y? I've confirmed that one of the EEs is a roo, but this one has me stumped. The tail is what has me second guessing.

edited to add: will 8 weeks old this Friday
