YO GEORGIANS! :)

are you having trouble getting it high enough? what reading are you using, and are you trusting the built in one? the one I have that I trust is actually a hygrometer I bought at the pet store in the reptile section.
Thats what the problem is not getting it high enough I am using two a hydrometer and the one on the unit they are matching up as far as the reading goes well close any way one reads 55 the other 53 . I used hot water when I added it 100 degrees . i dont really know what else to do , am keeping a close watch on it . It has gone up a little it was 47

how many of the little trays in there do you have water in? surface area of the water is what affects it, not how much water is actually in each one.

Are you incubating or at hatch day? you're not far off if you're hatching but that's too high for the first 18 days.

good luck! I have a small water container in the incubator with the eggs in it. Much water at all in that one it shoots to 70%. The other one I just bought yesterday, right now I have water in the two outside ones, trying to get it to come up over 60% tomorrow is lockdown day for me on my first dozen, I don't have to put them in until later in the day. Still playing with getting it stable. Pretty satisified with the temps, just the humidity.

I need to google how to make sure the hygrometer is reading right and adjust, if I can, to what ever it needs to be. the one thing I don't like about this thing, is I get different readings if I put it in different places inside it. This is why I've tried to put the water on both sides to see if that will help even it out.

yeah, I went back to town and bought yet ANOTHER gauge to put in, now I have 4 different readings, LOL

ok. When you have the time, go to google and learn how to calibrate your hygrometers. It's really simple. Once you find out if they are off, write on them with a sharpie how much they are off so you will know next time and will be able to know what the real humidity is. I always put a folded paper towel in the corner where the little hole is that the cord to the turner goes out of. I take it you are in lockdown and you are no longer using the turner and you took it out.) I also put a folded towel right under my plug hole. (And, NO, don't plug it up....needs the oxygen) When I need extra humidity, I use a medicine dropper with warm water and squirt it into the little cord hole and the plug hole unto the paper towels. It will up the humidity. Just do one paper towel at a time to see how much you need. Good luck! This is the exciting time!!!!!

just did it, I now have both my dial store bought hygrometers in a sandwich bag with a 20 oz bottle of wet salt. I'll know in 6 hours how close they are.
