ShadesofSable is hatching some of my chicks at the same time I am! We are having fun comparing notes! I have three hatched out and 8 more pips so far. (Had 22 to start the lockdown with although I think one was bad but let it ride) One of my dark Marans eggs from Newnan is pipping and 3 of the Mottled Orpingtons so far!
good luck! I have 11 in the hatching bator, keeping a close watch on temps and humidity. I am hoping for a much better hatch rate than the last one. just went to lockdown yesterday, I know I could have a few pips in the morning, but I'm not expecting it

That is an Araucana, next up Whiting True blue and I think the one with the ball on her head is White Crested Black Polish. What is that chick in the picture above the eggs???
Super excited! I got a Swedish Isbar for the green eggs and a Cream Legbar for the blue eggs. Both are now roosters apparently and will not lay very good eggs at all. Also the breeder is out of both of these breeds and only has beige egg layers left. So here we are back to white, cream and brown.
Cream Legbars are sexable at birth. My male had a yellow spot on his head, the females had brown spots.
Auto sexing only works if the wife of the breeder isn't the one picking the birds out of the brooder and if a marsh daisy didn't sneak into the cream Legbar pen.
