YO GEORGIANS! :)

My hens finally started laying again. Putting the rooster with them really made them mad! I'm pretty sure the are fertile now. I'm getting a bullseye.

I threw this out there a month ago, but they quit laying. They are finally ready! If someone with an incubator would hatch some eggs for me I'd spilt whatever hatches. I have Ameraucanas (hens and a roo) from Justin Smithey and a white leghorn hen for SBELs to hatch. I could also put some Easter Eggers with him if you wanted some, they'd all be yours as I don't need more EE.
I'm just north of Atlanta.

I was about to start doing fermented feed for my big pen anyway ... may go ahead and do it.

She didn't seem to know exactly what they are other than "meat birds" and when I mentioned broilers she seemed to find that term familiar.
I couldn't ferment the crumble feed. It just turned to mush for me. Maybe I was doing it wrong.
But what I did was set up two buckets. One had the cider vinegar in it. The other had holes drilled in it. I'd put scratch grain in the bucket with holes and set it down in the cider to soak overnight. In the morning, I'd add a scoop of crumbles just long enough for it get moist. Then raise the bucket on a rope and let it drain.

Scooped it into a section of PVC gutter and let the little beast have at it.

Depending on when you are wanting to do it, I might be able to help.

I always let the saturated feed ferment in the bucket for a few days then would slop it out into feed pans/bowls. Let it sit in the bucket until bubbles begin to form.

Pretty nasty looking stuff but the birds sure do love it

If you were closer, I'd jump all over this opportunity

I was planning on starting chicken eggs around the first of April. I've got quail in the Genesis. But, if this big ole, beautiful incubator works right, I'd be glad to hatch for you. I work in Acworth so meeting up would probably be easy.
Ameraucanas would be nice. I don't need any EE either.

My two SLW's I was hoping to build from both turned out to be roosters. Funny though, one has a rose comb and the other has a standard upright.

If you get a another offer, it's ok.

I'd also like to help. I'm in Dawsonville. My son lives in Alpharetta and comes to visit often.. Is that near you?
