YO GEORGIANS! :)

You know, we considered getting a new puppy, but we were thinking it might outlive us!  Scary to think!

Consider adopting an older dog maybe? There's always plenty of old dogs in the shelter if you'd rather have one that's a little less energetic and already potty trained. :)

How many toes does your chick have?  I had some frizzled NNs who are part silkie and are therefore, smaller in size anyway.

I think she just has 4, but I'll look when I get home! That would make sense if she's bantam sized. She does have a rose comb though, and the rest have pea combs.

Thanks for the welcome.

I grew up in Etowah County, AL but have spent the majority of my life in Central Virginia - Richmond, VA.

I heard from another member that there is a cookout coming up soon and I'd love to drop by and meet some of the group. We're just getting started back with poultry & waterfowl since the move. No hatching eggs to offer but I can bring food.

We have Crested Cream Legbars, Black Copper Maran, Saxony Ducks and a few Olive Eggers. Along with registered Belted Galloway cattle, donkeys, and horses.

Welcome aboard and I do hope that you can make it. Lots of good folks here and we had such a nice time when we did this get-together last year.

And FYI for all ... we do have a fridge at the farm, if needed. And if you want something to throw on the grill but don't want the hassle of traveling with meat, there is a great little market/butcher about 3 miles from the farm. In addition to the usual (chicken, ribs, burgers) e makes his own brats, etc. Just throwing that out there in case anyone would like to go that route.

Anybody close have 6-12 duck eggs that I can get today or tomorrow? I made sure that I had an incubator ready for this class (special needs kids) but I have no eggs ... my ducks have started hiding everything. Argh!!!

So sad. Our sweet little Irwin died in his sleep tonight. He was 16 1/2. When I tucked him in his bed tonight, I told him he didn't have to stay here if he didn't want to. I told him it was ok if he wanted to go play with Apollo, Ayda, Chopper and Lexi. (Our other dogs buried in the backyard). He died 10 minutes later.

So sorry to hear about the loss. Its hard to lose a little guy that has been with you so long.

@Flowerbh so sorry to hear about your puppy! It's so heartbreaking to loose one, no matter how old. We lost our ACD mix last year at 16+ too. Still miss her, but the new puppies help keep us busy.

For anyone else who might know, what would keep a chick from growing? One of my five I hatched a few weeks ago is staying tiny compared to her half siblings. If I remember correctly, she was a frizzle NN olive egger crossed with Flowers big Brahma boy Beau. She's literally still less than half the size of her siblings, even after separating her and the other 4 from the bigger pullets.

Here she is between an EE/Brahma and a frizzle ee/Brahma, both her (at least) half siblings. Any hints guys?

When I got my cream crested legbars one stayed tiny for a while. She eventually caught up. I asked on the breed thread and most agreed she was just slow to mature. She caught up in a few months. She stayed newly hatched chick tiny for weeks!

That's how this one is! She's barely grown at all, and all the others keep getting bigger and feathering out better. She seems perfectly healthy, just mini sized!

I have had the 3 new ones I got that are 3 mo old in a cage next to the coop and run since Saturday and the laying adults in a cage since yesterday, how long do they all have to stay separated until they all can be in the same coop and run?
