Any way you can isolate him to a separate area, either to let the hens eat or if possible longer.

That's what I do. I think he also picking at their feet Beuace the back of their heels are bloody like something was taking chucks out of them

Sorry for your loss, nine years definitely get attached and probably was a good mouser.

Thank you, he was a wonderful mouser. My husband trapped him at his old job as a buck wild three-month/old, lol.

I'm planning on bringing a dozen blue am eggs for trading. I would like some of those RIR eggs and some orps if anyone is bringing any of those. I can bring some of the AM/Australorp eggs that gave me my OE if someone wants some of them, not sure I'll get a dozen between now and then though....

Like storing them? Ideally, in a cool area-- turn at least twice daily. Set by 10 days but I've gone up to two weeks with no issue.

On the other hand, I've also taken eggs from the refrigerator that have been turned zero times and are two weeks old.. With no issues.

I want to bring some for the egg swap (I can't hatch any but I could still like to give them to anyone who wants them.)

Pointy side down! Rotate several times a day. Cool place. Not more than 10 days old.

Yes I guess if you're planning them for someone else you'll definitely want to do all that. Wasn't sure if you meant just for you. I turn all my eggs I'm gonna sell. My own just stay on the counter.
