I'm surprised they still have some of those beautiful birds, Hey have you heard from Buddy? was wondering how his new flock is doing. My local feed store has about 10 buff orpington female chicks left. I think they run $3.50 each if anyone is interested in them. They are about two weeks old now. I could get them and hold them for you. Let me know
Would be tempting to get them and grow them out to sell as layers later. My local feed store has about 10 buff orpington female chicks left. I think they run $3.50 each if anyone is interested in them. They are about two weeks old now. I could get them and hold them for you. Let me know
My hatch of Bielefelders and CCL just started. I blue and one brown hatched two pullets. Pictured below.
I looked back in and another brown egg was pipping and when the chick pushed out I was surprised. I do believe this is an Ayam Cemani mixed in with the Bielefelder eggs.
Is there an easy way to sex these chicks?

Yeah, it hatched out of the egg you see in the picture. I knew you just had some to hatch and thought you said two were roosters. I was hoping you would see my post if there was and easy way to sex them. I have 11 more blue and 9 more brown eggs that are pipping and wouldn't mind some more of those being mixed in. I got the CCL eggs from a man that got his flock in England.Looks like a Cemani to me. Or at least looks like the ones I have. No way to sex them AT ALL! I think two of mine are rooster because they play fight all the time. Not sure about the other one. Did it hatch out of that dark brown egg?
