Love that breed! They don't eat or poop!
 
Boooo! Had the ducks and chicks listed on Craigslist this weekend. Got two inquiries on the ducks, but so far no takers and NO inquiries on the 25 chicks! I just reposted the chicks. I did have a local lady interested in some of my hens.

I was really hoping so too, but this is day 22, mama is up off the eggs a LOT since she has two babies. I should have taken the flashlight out last night and candled them, at day 18 everything seemed to be good, although we know the marans eggs are harder to see through. I have 4 eggs left in there, an E7A, a Lav AM and 2 marans eggs. No pips, no indications they're going to pip. I tried holding them up to my ear and can hear nothing happening inside. I'll give them till tomorrow, then I'll be either taking the chicks from mama, or moving them to the pen. The RIR and Orps were some I wanted for myself, hoping they turn out to be hens

My LAST HATCH of the season is in lockdown, day 20.. And I am so glad!! I need a break. Everything I have now- including this hatch (silver laced Cochin bantam)- will be mine to raise.. Woohoo!!

I have two incubators full yet. Then, hopefully, those will be the last for a while. I haven't been back to Farmers Market since the first day! Been hatching most the eggs, or selling to my regular customers. But, now will be selling all the eggs.
 
Renters are here until tomorrow. They signed up for 8 adults and 3 kids. I'm pretty sure there are at least 12 kids and 12 adults! So far, we know we have to rebuild the back steps and fix the road. What is it about kids that they want to throw all your rocks in the lake? They went to Walmart Saturday and came back with two puppies that some lady was trying to give away in the parking lot! So now there are two puppies puddling in the house! I can't wait to see in the house in the morning!
 
Anyone want an UGLY but functional coop? Just needs some new wire and a roof.. ;) 4x8' with three laying boxes, an L-shaped roost and a pop door
