YO GEORGIANS! :)

Calling all duck lovers, I need your help,

I have rescued 3 ducks, 2 Peking and 1 mallard well I pick them up tomorrow if I remember right they are maybe close to a year old, maybe not that old, but if you saw where these animals came from you'd cry. Please if you have a pond, let me bring them,or one, or two to your place, I don't have the set up, but could not leave these animals in the situation they are in. I do have one person considering taking them but if that doesn't work out I need a back up.

I also rescued 7 hens and 1 roo, bantam Cochin!! beautiful birds, had to remove the dirt, mess, yuck balls from their toes the size I"m not kidding the size of ping pong balls, my DH had to carefully break them with a pair of pliers, and you can see toes missing from where in the past it must have been left to rot off. I will try to post pics of the chickens tomorrow, oh and another sad part is they have chicks with huge balls stuck on their toes, don't know how they walk, I will try to care for them but the owners will not let them go. They have rabbits and I had to tell them they don't have any water, it is in a small cage, I can't take them, but if anyone would take one I will see if I can get the owner to part with one, two, three,

But on a positive note the chickens are in a nice pen/house and they have a roost off the ground and clean bedding and FOOD and WATER and are not living literally in mud, yes they were kept with the ducks that only had a mud hole to walk in. They seem in good shape, all but one came out into the pen today to see what was going on,

Glad you were available and could rescue the ducks and if not able to remove at least check on the welfare of the other animals. Its such a shame the way people for whatever reason want animals then instead of asking for help or getting them rehome they just want to neglect them. Had the same situation with the chickens I rescued. Glad their are a few of us left that will do what we can for the animals. Thank You.

My cochins free range. Well, semi free range. They have 1/3 of an acre fenced with a 6 foot privacy fence and a great pyrenees keeping all the critters away. All of mine are loose in the yard unless I have them penned to get eggs from certain birds. Even my silkies free range. My bantam cochin girls hang with the standard hens most of the time. I've got brown egg layers, easter eggers, cochins, and silkies all loose with the ducks and muscovies in the backyard. I would love more cochins... however I am sadly overloaded with little roos plus having 4 adult roos in the yard already.
oh then they are mine, lol thanks for the info

and Thank You,Yes the animal world does need a lot of us. I really think, I can get him to part with the other ducks, he knows he is over whelmed and works such long hours.

ok, I'm going to have to go and have a serious talk with the owner of the rest of the ducks, I went and got a kiddie pool and I have never seen ducks get so excited to see water, so needless to say they jumped in. I was worried about the Mallard flying away cause I didn't get the pool all the way in the pen, anyway they are not going far from the water.  I think he has 4 more Peking one looks like it maybe getting the curled tail feather.  I wish I could keep one, but I just don't feel I have the duck set up, years ago when I had my one Peking duck I had a pond so anyway we will see what happens, we maybe on a recon mission ,lol

Now someone here wanted Cochin Bantams, I have 7 hens and 1 roo that are from the same place that needs to be re-homed,  I free range and I was told these birds don't do well, so any takers?  going to get pics

If you weren't so far away I would be vary interested in a bantam hen.

Have room for my three RIR roosters?

In my freezer, yes. Sorry.

Don't y'all just love it when they announce in public that they are going to go tell secrets? They don't want the rest of us to know what kind of shady deals they're making with the mob for black market quail.
Shaddap

Your just jealous you don't have the hook up lol
There's that, too.

There's room at the farm for any of them, ducks or bantams. Just let me know.

You've posted about these on here before and I was curious what nankins are? I'm not in the market for more chickens, but I've never heard of that breed before.

I'm actually trying to get rid of several chickens myself, too actually.

Nankins are a bantam and are a very small bird and very pretty.
