YO GEORGIANS! :)

Your quilt is fun! I use to do a lot of quilting until we moved out of the big house into the apartment. We now rent out the big house as a vacation rental. Anyway, I have about 10 tops ready for quilting. Do you know anyone with a long arm machine who will quilt them for me?
Angie Rapids (Miss Prissy on BYC, former moderator) in VA does it, but you'd have to send it to her, of course. She has a Tin Lizzy and does excellent work. Other than that, I don't know anyone. You may be able to see her work on Facebook.

I don't have a long arm. I have Rhonda (as in "Help Me, Rhonda!" from the Beach Boys, LOL). Mine is a mechanical one-stitch, high speed machine that I have to "draw" on the quilt with the needle, powering it through myself, rather organic; as my friend, Ellie, says, it's one step past my usual hand quilting, which is my forte, but not so fun anymore with carpal tunnel.

My hand quilting is much better than my machine quilting. I've hand quilted for over 30 years, only machine quilted for less than 2 years.

Close call on the weather today, but we made it through unscathed. I live in Carroll County (near the Douglas County line), and the warning sirens went off just after 11:00am. It seems that a tornado touched down in the county not far when where we live, but it hit east of us. The power lines are down in some areas, and lots of folks are without power. The chickens hunkered down together and seemed to sleep through it all.

They are showing video online of a Carrollton fire station's roof blowing off.

Glad ya'll are ok. Its been bad down here in West Point as well, but not that bad so far, by far. Since we have no buffer at all from the lake in front of us, the wind is worse than my neighbors. Wednesday is suppose to be worse, that coming from my news guy friend. Ya;ll all stay safe!

Whoa! That is west of us if it's the station just off of Hwy 61.

Glad that you and Robo made it through okay.
Station 22, wherever that is. Looks like a weak tornado. You can see the wind/rain wrapping around while you watch the video.

Got a little worried for a few minutes as they showed rotation headed right for us. Threw the kids in the basement but nothing ever happened.

Thanks. That strong line of weather has at least past you now, so hopefully the wind will start to die down.

The online weather site I like to use is Weather Underground (Wunderground). If you're not familiar with it, it's an excellent site that uses data collected from home weather stations. The WunderMap is my favorite feature.

What would y'all recommend I do about my incubator & power loss? Tornado warning here
If one of the smaller ones, wrap it in towels, etc. Just be sure to be there when power comes back on so you can take those things off. If power isn't off too long and you do't lose too much heat you should be ok.

We're looney enough that we have a generator on stand by for the cabinet incubator
