If you have a high-gloss latex paint or even a semi-gloss latex paint, that would make for easy clean up after painting since it's water based. The downside is that latex paints tend to be not as durable and easy to clean as oil-based, high-gloss enamel paint. The main thing is to try to avoid paints with flat finishes because those take a lot more work to clean.

Once upon a time I lived in a vintage shotgun house in New Orleans, and I had a large kitchen that I painted with an oil-based, high-gloss white enamel. I had to give it two coats, but when the job was over, the white paint really opened up the kitchen and made it look even roomier. I was very pleased with the results of that project. Anyway, I hope you find a paint that suits you and your flock! :)
 
Well, if anyone knows I was trying to get into The north GA collage to stay close to everyone and be able to care for my chickens more often. Sadly that didn't work out and I'm going to liberty university up in lynchburg Virginia. That means I'm leaving Georgia and my chickens. I'm leaving August 21.
 
Got my pekins and a random khaki campbell I think. Now they need to make me babies.

Well, I'm sure you'll have fun and enjoy your experience at Liberty U. I know a few people who graduated from LU and really liked the university. The college years are fun, so try to enjoy them.

I've got two kids starting college this Fall semester. Julie is heading to LSU, and Christopher is taking 9 hours at the local technical college. He wanted to go to Georgia Highlands, but they have a minimum age of 15, and he'll be 14 in a couple of weeks, so he'll have to wait and transfer next year.
 
Hello from Milledgeville. I've been lurking around this thread for a couple of months and thought I'd finally say hello:frow.

As you can probably guess by my not very clever username, I have chickens (barred rocks & white leghorns), ducks (welsh harlequins, khakis, rouens, black runners, & pekins), and geese (embdens & buffs) All of my animals are around 2-3 months old and finally getting out of their awkward teenage phase.

Everyone currently resides in three 8x40 hoop pens. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to build these pens in June & July :th. I have given my family permission to have me committed if I ever have a bright idea like that again.

Welcome and I'll second that on the build. It has been soooo hot. So where in Ga do you hail from? I'm in Rome and have lots of different birds and I hatched to Indian runner ducks my first. Years ago I had a peking and she was wonderful.

I'm about 30 minutes east of Macon.
I didn't intend to have so many animals. I went into Tractor Supply for a couple of pekins and came out with 16 ducks instead. I was the victim of end of the season clearance prices on cute fuzzy little ducks. I went into my local feed store one day because TS was out of the feed I'd been using for my ducks and geese. Like a fool, I decided to look at the cute fuzzy little chicks. The owner was cleaning out their brooders and said he'd give me a good deal because they were a special order that didn't get picked up. I walked out with 100 lbs. of feed and 40 chickens ($25 for all 40 of them). Even though I have way more than I intended, I am mostly enjoying all of them. The ducks and I have to have a serious heart to heart conversation about sloshing water out of their pool and using the water to make big mud puddles. There's nothing quite like the smell of dirty water, poop, and mud mixed together in the hot Georgia sun :sick.
