YO GEORGIANS! :)

I'll have to wait till hubby gets back from a long bd. meeting, but there's a silicone seal that seems to work the best for us when we "reuse" tin or if simply it leaks around a nail hole. Once it was so bad in the goat barn, I threatened to put a gutter under it because it leaked on my back during milking.....ugh....

My husband has been working on our coop all weekend, (in between the rain bursts) and I hope to have it finished next weekend. I know it's a little early in the season but does anyone nearby have any baby chicks that are ready to leave the nest? I'm looking for 1 day to only just a couple weeks old, RRI or EE. I'll start them out in a condo built by Rubbermaid, and then move them to their new 2 story mansion when they are big enough.

Welcome You should have no problem finding chicks in that area. Bargain normally has chicks but do not think they have RIRs. They did have EEs last year. I also know RedRoofHens normally has a lot of chicks but have not seen them on this thread in a while. They had RIRs last year. I only have Barred Rock Hens currently for sale and they are just under a year old. I should have Mille Fluer Duccles, SQ Barred Rocks, French Black Copper Marans, and Olive Eggers available this summer. I should also have Euskal Oiloa in the Marraduna, Zilarra, and Beltza varieties sometime next year.

I went out during another drenching rain last night and the leak is along the seam. The hail we had Saturday may have contributed to the separation. We are working on the leak in my ceiling (turned out to be upstairs plumbing issue, not roof) and then the girls will have their roof worked on. Rain heading our way, so hopefully will be repaired before it hits.

Thanks! Red Roof hasn't updated their website since October last year. humm

ILOVEFRIZZLES is the BYC username. They were online yesterday so send them a PM and ask. You will probably find what you are looking for.

I think you're already taken care of and Young Heritage, you are correct, our Farm did sell our RIR flock and Buff Orps and White Leghorns.

I will be setting delaware eggs in the incubator shortly and some EE's as well. I do have a few Lavendar Orpingtons presently available for sale and I think that's about it for right now! We have awesome vegetables, milk, honey and preserves, etc and more from our Commercial kitchen.....We homestead and farm full time for a living.

I hope all of you were safe during the storm, I did find out one of our church friend's home was destroyed in Alabama and she fared okay but her grandfather was hurt badly. The storm came close to us but I think all of Georgia was okay as far as I have heard.

Our poor chickens are getting so much wet going on out there. We spent a great deal of time working to make sure that they had hay and things to stand on to get away from the wet weather!...We have long stood by our philosophy that fresh air and sunshine are good for all animals and that's how we design our chicken tractors, with no associated permanent house.....

Well, I need to get busy and find some dinner to cook...Didn't realize it was so late. Y'all have a blessed evening,,,,, Oh I meant to share with y'all a pic of our darkest egg we've ever gotten from our marans... Jac was going to was to eat and I said OH no.... here it is:

My cell phone doesn't do it justice, that was a double yolker next to it! If I only knew which hen laid it....Ha! That will be the challenge...
