In Adairsville we had awful storms Friday and Saturday. Today it appears to be looking up for us. I am sure my birds will love a break from being penned up. Yesterday did give me or force me I should say to work inside on unpacking. uuuggghh remind me to never move again. I am loving my new house and all the extra room.
So did anyone decide to attend the NW Georgia Poultry Show in Dalton on the 4th? I am going but have not yet been convinced to show just yet. The fact that I am even considering it proves I am certifiably crazy. M y birds are NOT in condition.

Hope you all enjoy dryer weather today.

So, after we received the small hail and flooding rain I went out to check on the girls in their new coop and covered run.

While they were all dry, it was only because they sought out the drier roost areas. I had two long leaks from my tin roof. Had not had this in gentler rains - or had not had enough rain to notice. Oh, and last night was the first night they all managed to put themselves into the coop and onto the roost! It was a pretty terrific thunderstorm!

My question for those of you with experience in Southern Georgia, should I bother caulking to eliminate the leaks or be thankful my chickens figured out the solution?

Fix those leaks!!! Looks like we're in for rainy season.... Farmer Nancy here praying for a bit of a chill down..... With so many days of warmer weather, we are facing a real risk of the apple trees, etc putting on blooms and we all know historically we're not out of the freezing weather..... So praying that we don't loose the majority of apples the way we did last year..... I guess I need to come up with a praying logo for BYC.... Don't see one any where............. I know we all like warmer weather, but this bodes poorly for peaches as well...
