Got more baby silkies on the porch and a few lavendar orpingtons...(LO's will be for sale)...........On silkies, will need to grow them out some more before we sell any.... My rooster loving incubator is giving me way too many roosters..... I'm waiting on an experiment by GA_in_GA......on how to hatch more girls!!!

We've had so much rain, I know we need it for the water tables, but all under the bunnies pens and there are quite a few

as hubby allows me all the bunnies I want for their valuable manure....for the gardens, were molded heavily.............I finished about 1/2 of those and will be back later this evening to clean out more....And here is that photo that I've been trying to post. Really nice dark Marans eggs yesterday.... Hubby said she's first layer in that group, so if I can decide when to get her, I will..... She needs to stay with us say about 4 years!!!! or 5....She needs a deep brown tag and a hug! Have a great day Georgians! Love, hugs and prayers to all...............

I am not sure I'd consider it an experiment as much as encouraging the girls to hatch at a better rate. lol

Mineral Bluff, Ga. dern near in NC

Hi Carvy,
welcome-byc.gif
to BYC. I don't usually post here as I live in NC and am mostly on the Norwegian Jaerhon forum, but I do check in to keep up with the neighbors. I am only about 20 miles north of Mineral Bluff, near Turtletown, TN. What kind of chickens do you have?

Hi to both of you.... Nice to have you here. I like to say I live in Plum Nelly, Plum Nelly , Alabama as some of my relatives say......... I always thought there was a person Named Plum Nelly when I was visiting my kin. And now, I just believe I shall name one of my farm animals... "Plum Nelly"...........

I just put 70 eggs in the incubator to get ready for the Valentines Hatch!!!! I was pushing the "envelope" for time with some of my silkies..... I just cannot stand to eat those little eggs.

Now I have mostly ducks and a few geese.I have Holderreads Ducks, (He wrote "Storeys Guide to Ducks "and "Storeys guide to Geese" Runners (think running bowling pins), Saxony (meat ducks), Bibbed Dutch Hookbills (imported from europe, forerunner to many domestic ducks).A few miniature ducks (1/3 the average breed size, not calls), Mini- Overbergs, Mini-Silver Appleyards or Silver Bantams, Mini-Silky Ducks. I presently have rare Shetland Geese, and Tufted Buff geese, hoping to add another goose breed. I live between Rome and Summerville......
