You do have them separated from your other chickens right? I wonder what's wrong with them that they won't stand much? Do you think they are malnourished and weak? I wonder what they smell from?

Yah- they are away from the others for a month. They are walking around, maybe they were just nervous and super laid back. They smell better, too, after their bath.

I am selling my entire flock of wade jeane marans - I am in Gainesville, GA

1 breeding quad of wade jeane marans - hatched in Janurary by Tommy Culpepper before he sold the flock to Mr. Terry Mitchell. It is getting harder and harder to find pure Wade Jeane marans literally right from the source. Mr. Charles Logan is no longer taking orders for those (from my first hand source). $120 FIRM for all. I will not seperate. hens are solid black with no copper hackles, but the rooster has proven to improve that most of the time on his pullets. the rooster does not have copper spotting on the chest, all have feathered shanks with correct leg color and produce this.

Their offspring.

2 young roosters - $8 each. Different ages.
3 young pullets - $15 each. Different ages. 2 have copper hackles, 1 is solid black so far but very beautiful pullet. Average age is 6 weeks. They will start laying early next year.

Those are the chicks after culling. No obvious defects. Those were my last ones.

Pam they are really cute! I love the calico coloring. Is that an official color??? I've heard people talk about it. I'm so glad you rescued them from their digs and have bathed them all up and given them some attention. I need to buy some of the poodle whitening shampoo for my two whites as they are a mess.

WELL I KNOW WE GET EMOTIONAL OVER THEM. MY WHITES FEET ARE SO DIRTY AND THEN DELILAH GETS IN BB'S MASH AND HER BEARD AND CREST ARE BLACK AND CRUSTY WITH HER FOOD. I WASH IT AND SHE GETS IT DIRTY THE SAME DAY.

hiyas everyone!. I live in Adairsville, GA .

I don't have any chickens yet, but in process of convincing my wife that we need to start raising chicken for meat and eggs. So far it looks like I'll be building one and possibly 2 hoop coops this winter to be ready for chicks in the spring.
