Hello everyone... This is a very sad morning for me and my flock of, now four chicks, because one of my appealingly healthy chicks passed away an hour or so ago. I believe it was because of pasty butt, although I checked her before I went to bed and cleaned her off. So naturally, I want to protect my flock from having the same sad fate. I read that putting yogurt in with them helps them a lot, but how do I do this? Should I buy a separate feeder or waterer for it? or should I mix it in with the water? Or mix it in with the feed? Does it matter what kind? Please help me out!

for yogurt it doesn't matter what kind you get and put it separate from the food or water i usually give it every Sunday on random boards placed throughout the coop

They LOVED it. They were skeptical at first, but when I smushed some up I my hand the brave one pecked at it, and than it was gone in seconds. Soon they were crawling all over me looking for more. It was mostly crushed hard boiled eggs with a little bit of yogurt. Just the therapy I needed after two of them passed away. :(

Yep! My chicks love yogurt too :) I'm sorry to hear that two of them passed.. It must be hard. My 4 week old chicks know the voice that I use when bringing them treats too so whenever I say "Hi chicks!" and put my hand in the brooder, they all come running. Also when I make clucking noises and poke at the ground, they peck where I'm poking. Your chicks will get to know you better as they get older, just use lots of treats! And grit isn't needed for yogurt or eggs, by the way. Good luck with your chicks!

Yep they do love the egg's and if they do not then there is a problem with them but just try to give them an egg a day for a week then you will see a massive difference in no time
