Yolk not absorbed yet

I had a duck egg start hatching yesterday morning and he half way climbed out this afternoon. He still has a somewhat large yolk sac attached and it doesn't seem to have gotten smaller in the last 4 hours. Is this normal? He's kicking and peeping like a normal duck but is still attached to the shell

Yep - just wait it out. It will dry out and fall off.

one of my newly hatches fuzzy butted ducks was the same, came out, still attached to the shell, yolk not fully absorbed, i seperated him in the incubator, and kinda, tucked him in with a towel, so he couldnt kick away the egg till it was done, took 10 hours, so patients,it will happen, just keep him warm and comfy
