They even falsely claim Paul Bunyan lives there. Which is a complete fabrication.

Since Okra is not actually food, it compares to nothing. But go ahead and try it, and find out for yourself.

Okra is very mucilaginous. Oddly it is this characteristic that makes it so helpful in a gumbo as it adds body. It's also very healthful (the mucousy stuff) for some reason I have long ago forgotten.

In Nebraska we do not eat foods like okra and head cheese, we eat normal foods like corn and beef! A side note: a very Nebraskan meal for watching Husker games (Go Big Red!) is chili served with a side of cinnamon rolls.

I found this so “disappointing”.

I saw you mention the normal food and thought, for a faction of a second you might almost be a northerner, then it took an ugly turn.


First “big red” always refer to the only true tractor of the north, a Farmall.

Then instead of headcheese with a side of cinnamon rolls, you went with an exotic dish from south of the Southies southern border even..
