You might be a “Southie” if...

I picked up a few ducklings along with a chick order for a friend of mine. They were at my house for 5 days. At first I thought, "Oh look at the cute duckies!", but by Day 3 I was thinking, "What stinky, messy, noisy little demons!" and was thrilled to pass them off to my friend (who also swore off ducks after them)

Seriously though, they are interesting critters, and are probably fine if they are kept outdoors and away from home and chickens. Like if you have a pond on the back 40.

Where the skunks and coon roam..

They like making a mess out of water but they taste so good and so do their eggs. They are also so cute and lovable and only some breeds are noisy, I’ve had ducks, and still do, that you never hear a peep from unless you are trying to grab them or are holding them. But I had one khacki Campellx Pekin that would quaik all day, hes in the septic tank now. You probably haven’t raised many, “Devil minion Dux”, but it’s fine...... after all, your a northerner.
