You might be a “Southie” if...

Ralphie, my dad lived in a perpetual state of “forever 39,” for as long as I can remember. (He was a big jokester, too. ;)) Anytime the opportunity arose, he would jump at the chance to always remind me/us of his age. Always!

It wasn’t until my DH had already turned 40 that I told him he was gonna have to age some because “I was now married to a man older than my dad.” He finally upped his age, 10 whole years!:th:lau

Happy Winter Solstice everyone! Here in the mid-South, we had a sunny 60º day.....and look! Christmas dinner on the way.....

Yum yum..

do you have reservations for your room on Molokai?

Let’s see who gets that obscure reference.
Hmmmm....
Ok, I’m going to take a crack at your obscure reference. Here’s my guess:

Armadillos are known for having leprosy and even spreading it to humans. I believe that the island of Molokai used to be a leper colony. So, eating the leper’s lunch special could get you a one way trip to Molokai.

Am I correct or (somewhat close)?

I knew about the armadillos and leprosy, but didn’t know about Molokai, so I admit that I did have to google info about the island. Once I found out that it used to be a leper colony, I figured out the link between the two!

I love a good mystery!

I knew about the leper colony because we lived in Hawaii on the Big Island for a while. But there's now a cure for leprosy, which is good, because our chickens and cats have been known to get kind of close to them.

I have visited the colony. Kind of. There is a huge overlook, huge for Molokai. I think two cars could be there at once.

We lived on Maui.
