You might be a “Southie” if...

People here in the "actual south" are taking it so lightly that truthfully I'm a little concerned for them but I'm getting ready to lockdown and live off the chickens until this all blows over.

I may still pick up some Bounty paper towels to suck up all the cooties first. ;)
I hear you and completely agree. I recently read some info written by doctors on the front line in Italy and it has me a bit freaked out. I won’t post it here (unless anyone is interested) because it was pretty grim and I know this is supposed to be a light and funny thread, but it was an eye opening reality of what happens when your medical system gets overwhelmed. Just hoping everyone takes precautions to stay well!

On a lighter note, I’m wondering what you all/ya’ll call “sweetened carbonated beverages”, ie coke, soda, pop, etc? As I have moved to different places, it seems like everyone knows whether you are, or are not, from the area based on what you call it. If you call it by the wrong name, people say, “your not from around here, are you?”

I've always said soda but I'm originally from the west coast soooo I'm not actually sure what they call it here. lol

And ducks LUV lakes.
Yes... so do my chickens, apparently. If allowed, they can turn a waterlogged grassy spot into a mud-pit ready for wrestlin', lickety-split. Between them and the ducks and geese... well, let's just say the chickens are staying IN the greenhouse today.

Only the turkeys are above this sort of mud-letting, though two of the three remaining senior toms seem bound and determined to engage in a bit of blood-letting today. They will be the next victims when it warms up again.

It is “pop” here. If it’s not “pop” you are seriously a Southie!

The first time I heard someone ask for a Coke and the waitress said what kind... and the guy said “7-up”..

I knew I had crossed the border to a third world country.
