Honey is about $5 a pound here. I can buy a package for $130. So it’s cheaper to kill the bees, take the honey and buy new in the spring. In addition, killing them is more humane than the way they die in 40 below temps.

What’s more cruel, them freezing to death, dying of a disease or any one of the other ways they can die over winter, or me giving them a fast death, after they have a great summer of life.
