when your teenager roo decides to get an attitude, so every nite you cuddle him to remind him he is just an old softy! yep... he falls asleep in my lap! and you buy a friend for one of your banties so she won't be lonely

There are 'bird leashes'? ill have to look for one of those
You can buy chicken saddles that have a ring to snap a leash to. Cute, & also probably less expensive than a "bird leash."
I'd suggest a chicken saddle that's the kind that has straps that cross across the breast in an "X". The ones that have straps that just go around the wings can chafe too much.
In a pinch at home, I've tied a piece of yarn with a square knot (so it wouldn't tighten too much) onto one leg of a chicken & held the other end. It takes a minute or two for the chicken to get used to having the string, but usually the chicken is quickly "taking it in stride" and you can let the chicken have some time semi-free-ranging about the yard.

I also still keep my baby monitor in the coop...cant seem to let it go, and everyone at work "expects" me to "dress up my chickens and take them for a walk" (I dress my little pug, so Im already "crazy"...
I love the thought of a chicken saddle/leash bt I really think that would take me a long step closer to that special house that has bars across the windows...and it's not prison. matter of fact, I can here the sirens now for just thinking about it...
