Young hen just died please help!

Thank you everybody. It means a lot. I am still very upset, since she was one of my favorites. I feel as I could have done something to prevent it, but I guess I couldn't have.

was it a really hot day where you live? I lost a hen when it was really hot out. Her comb was also purplish, although the death itself likely could have caused that. I have read that a purple comb means lack of oxygen, but I'm sure other conditions can cause it too.

ETA: I'm really sorry you lost one of your favorites. I know how hard that is.
