Your 2024 Garden

Stuck in a city this growing season. Here’s the extent of my garden.

I just got my Johnny's seed order in a week and a half ago, most likely going to be starting onions, leeks, bunching onions, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, and some herbs this week.

Walmart has soil now. Might grab a pack today and then start planting my longer growers next week. Still have to write everything out, I just keep forgetting to when I have the time and energy

My local grocery (and nearly everything else) store has seeds on display. They have coconut coir and potting soil too.

12 quarts of organic soil was $7, the coir was $5 for 8 quarts.

I grew my Summer squash on stakes last year, with cloth wound around at the base to discourage borers. It worked pretty well, and I was thinking of trying a short cattle panel trellis this year.

I'm going to use 2 of my 16' panels and plant the vine type summer squash on each side of them with tomatoes down the middle on the inside. I've never done this but I think it will work.

I bought 3 new LED lights to replace some very old florescents. I got them put up on my plant stand yesterday. I replaced 2 last year. I really like them and can see a difference in growth.

I also picked up some seed potatoes. It's been a long time since I grew taters.

This stuff cracks me up. Call it whatever fancy name you want, it's really just being in nature. Farmers have been doing this for hundreds of years. One main reason I hike and camp. "Forest breathing" give me a break. And this new "grounding" trend. I call it summer time

I don't think I'm gonna grow corn this year. My seeds are a few years old and I'm limited on space. I bought rhubarb and herb flowers that I'd rather put in the garden
