I think the growing season is way longer in Michigan than in Montana

We did get stakes in the ground and the first trellis line put around the peppers and eggplant today and none to soon. Maybe more planting tomorrow for okra and pink eye purple hull peas. I really want to get a lot done by Friday as we may just get some rain on Sat and Sun.

I don't know how I got the idea you were in Michigan! I see "south-eastern M..." and for some reason, I thought Michigan.

What zone are you in? We've been 5b for a long time, but just got bumped up to 6a.

And I'm so old I remember before they split the zones into a and b. When I was a kid, we were just plain ol' zone 5.

I have family in Michigan and my immediate family had planned to move back there a couple years ago before deciding to stay here

Zone 4, but my tiny little spot is often marked as a zone 5 surrounded by 4.

We got some rain here during the early morning hours. Enough to settle the dust. I can still prep for planting okra and purple hull peas. That's one benefit of sandy loam soil.

After mulling over how to get green Fordhook Lima beans in the freezer and checking our AL planting guide I see that I can plant them after I harvest the early sweet corn in one of the plots.

I managed to get some lime on the tomatoes today and limed the area where the fall crop of tomatoes will be planted also. Got all the fruit, berries, and pecan trees fertilized today so the forecast rain for this weekend will probably either go north or south or both of us. Tomorrow is wage war on fire ants day.

Today I'm going to water the heavy soil garden, and then mulch what isn't mulched. I think I'll use a bit of the Alaskan Fish Fertilizer I have on the tomatoes and other stuff.

We have an IBC tote with about 200 gallons of water in it by the heavy soil garden that is too far from the house to run a hose. Hubby ordered a fitting with a garden hose connection that should have screwed onto the outlet, making it easy to water the garden.

The fitting is slightly too small, he said. I took the cap that goes over the outlet and the fitting to a hardware store. I told them I need a fitting like what my husband bought, with threads like the cap.

No such thing.

The IBC was given to us, so I can't go back to where I got it. It says "NAIBC" on it.

Are there different sizes of outlet threads? Hubby said the fitting was slightly too small. It came with two pieces, one coarse thread, one fine. Our tote has fine threads.

Sorry but I have no clue. Can you install a new port that you can use an available fitting in if you can't find what you need? I've never seen such a tote so I'm just pulling at straws for a solution.
