You can buy antibiotic pills from online pet supply stores without a prescription. They are marketed for fish, but the same as any other meds except for the package. I keep Doxycycline on hand for Kennel Cough in my dogs, and Amoxicillan for emergencies. My vet said that for skin and ENT issues in pets and humans Cephlaxin (aka Keflex) is better, so I have that too.
With all that I didn't think I would need other antibiotics, but after learning how fast birds die I decided I needed something injectable, so I added Tylan. I probably would've gotten Baytril instead if I had read this first, but at least Tylan was available at the local TSC.
