I have only had two rooos. An EE who was downright EVIL to the other chickens so he was rapidly rehomed (with warnings about his behavior) and my precious little Golden Campine who I lost yesterday. He was gentle with his ladies but protective. He always gave them the treats first (and usuallly ended up with no bugs himself). He would herd them inside the coop at the first sign of danger. He would start crowing the second you went outside and continue as long as he could see you. He was a complete ham and would practically beg for his pic to be taken. He didn't like to be touched, however, but I felt that was well within his rights. He was good to us, good to his girls, what more could one want in a rooster. I miss my boy so much.
