Here are the details of this CONTEST:

Please note:
  • This contest is NOT sponsored by Backyard Chickens but has been approved my administration.

  • Also you must be at least 18 y/o to enter.;)
  • Also you must live within the Continental U.S. to receive offered prizes. But not to enter. If you are ineligible for prizes, you may select a member within the BYC Community with their permission, to receive the prize. Granted they live within the Continental U.S. & both parties contact me by P.M. system.:)
  • All other BYC Rules & Regulations apply for your contributions to this thread. That goes without saying.;)
With that said, here are the contest details.:highfive:
  • Two separate entries are allowed for each registered BYC Member.
(YOU CAN ENTER TWICE)
  • 6 photos are required to qualify:
3 photos minimum of preparation &
3 photos minimum of final presentation of your meal.

EXAMPLE ENTRY:
"Homemade Pizza with a Simple Salad"
  • Preparation photos..

This is a PHOTO CONTEST, so text is optional.
You can enter as many photos as you wish.
A MINIMUM OF:
3 prep/presentation completion.
  • Dishes must be created in your home, not restaurant purchased.
Kits from Supermarkets are allowed. You are not expected to create from scratch but it would be nice to ad a little creativity to the dish instead off just starting up your microwave. :rolleyes: Thus the reason for preparation photos required.
  • Baked/cooked/fried/grilled. As long as it is edible..lol
  • NO TV DINNERS OR PRE COOKED/HEAT AND SERVE DISHES.
  • Here is the kicker.. AT LEAST ONE PRESENTATION PHOTO MUST HAVE SOMETHING CHICKEN RELATED IN IT!

JUDGING:

All judging on the entries will be done by the BYC Community by use of THE LIKE BUTTON. The entry that receives the most likes will earn the First Prize, then Second & Third, as determined by likes.
You can click like now or wait until the final days of the contest.. You can even unlike! You are in control of the outcome. In the event of a tie, an extention of voting time will be posted for an "OVER TIME" vote.

If the entry has violated any of the regulations/rules of the contest or BYC Policy, that entry will be ineligible for it's ranking, even though it generates the most likes.

The meatballs and Pancetta (and of course the eggs ;)) are organic.
The required chicken in one of the pictures shouldn't be too hard to spot...:lol:

Thank you for the opportunity of participating in this contest. We had a fun time cooking, taking pictures and of course most of all: eating this delicious Italian meal.

Ok... I've been kind of pushed to submit something. So here goes.

Italian Mac-n-Cheese (inspired by Rachael Ray) and Cannellini bean salad (inspired by Giada De Laurentiis) with toasted pine nuts and a garlic and herb infused balsamic vinaigrette

For the salad, we use romaine lettuce, spinach that I picked today, chiffonade basil and parsley tossed with orange pepper, cherry tomatoes, toasted pine nuts, sliced red onion, mixed Italian cheese, three cheese blend and cannellini beans that I canned. The dressing is garlic and herb (rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil and parsley) infused olive oil with balsamic vinegar and garnished with more basil, three cheese blend, a sprig of parsley and a drizzle of balsamic glaze.

For the main course, we use fresh basil and parsley, Italian sausage, rigatoni, olive oil, butter, garlic, onion, mushroom, flour, crushed red pepper, chicken stock (from my chickens), heavy cream, pasta water, drained fire roasted tomatoes, fresh cherry tomatoes, crushed red pepper, salt, pepper, hot sauce, mixed Italian cheese and three cheese mix. After baking we garnish with some three cheese blend, basil chiffonade, parsley and fresh cherry tomatoes.

We start with the salad as it needs to marinade with the dressing.

eggs prep:
ab prep1 (3 of 1).jpg put spicy tomato sauce in casserole

Bread prep: I used sourdough starter, well fed, added cheese to dough, which I let rise 3X, sprinkle grated cheese on top, then baked 400º about 20 min :

Ok, I figure that I won't get to the dog grooming until later, so might as well get these photos uploaded since I am up early! :caf I have come to the conclusion that I like to take more photos of prep than presentation. :)
This is Italian lentil and sausage soup. I made some substitutions (kale instead of spinach as well as some others...). I did not make the dessert, it just so happened that my MIL sent it down on the same day that I was making this meal. Perfect!
