Hello everyone! I spoil my chickens a lot.. especially in the summer. Tennessee gets hot and humid! I thought it would be nice to share some of the snacks I feed my hens in the summer.

1. Frozen Coconut Oil Cubes:
For these I simply mix oats and coconut oil (you can put some banana in there too!) and put it into an ice cube mold. You don't have to freeze it, but i figure it's nice when it's hot out. I also let them thaw a little bit so they aren't rock hard.

2. Frozen Watermelon (or really any other fruit, my hens also really like bananas.)
This one is as simple as it sounds.. You slice some watermelon however you want, pop it in the freezer and you're done. It's a perfect summer snack, since watermelon is obviously made up of a lot of water, lol. I would also let this thaw a little bit so it isn't super hard.

3. Frozen Celery
Again.. very simple. Not all flocks like celery, but i know mine do.

Have a great summer!!
