Good to know about your Genesis. I think that's the kind I'm hoping to get for my birthday next month.

If I put 32 out of 35 into lockdown that is 92% making it to lockdown

That is pretty darn good for a first timer...right?

Of course we'll have to wait and see who hatches.

Now I am still trying to come up with a plan to identify them as they hatch. Am planning to make note of identifying characteristics as they hatch. But I am sure I will not see them all and how different can they be...

Onthespot suggested marking them with food coloring. I am worried about keeping them straight until I move them over and can mark them. Any other ideas will be welcome!

I have little fences in my hatcher. If you are not past lockdown you might try that. It's amazing what you can make with berry baskets and duct tape.

I sorted out my babies as best I could and put them in two large brooders, 14 in each. I needed to keep the feather-legged olive eggers separate from the feather legged blue BCMs since I can't tell them apart, etc. I marked the white butts of one line of black BCMs with food coloring.
Hope it works.

Good luck!
