It's a nice bright, sunny, albeit chilly, day here! And where are my girls? Stuck inside on account of that fricken dog!

If I ever get down your way Cyn, I hope I can sit on your porch, share a cup of whatever, and spend some time with that wonderful Zane on my lap! I could spend an entire day and then some just cuddling with a friendly chicken. Somewhere out there, there is another special chicken for me. I love all of my girls. They're all special to me. But I need that "extra" special girl by my side. Who knows....maybe even that "extra" special boy! Maybe she or he will even be in this first set of eggs that I hatch....of course, I have to get said eggs to put in the bator first!

*sigh* It will come...it will come...just have to practice the art of patience I suppose.

So, climb on down here Beth. Watch your step now. That first one is a bit of a doozie! If it helps, we'll hold hands through this great adventure together! There's safety (and less embarrassment

) in numbers ya know!

I can hardly wait to get out and get my hands on a hygrometer now! Oh! And a turkey baster to get additional water in as needed once I reach the lock-down phase! (hhhmmmm..somebody maybe has been visiting the "Hatching" forums?

OOOOOOH!! I can hardly wait!!

But, everything has to be in place first! I will not go at this haphazardly!! Lives hang in the balance!

I so want to sit on my porch on a sunny warm afternoon with some of my awesome friends with chickens on our laps. Could even be a rainy day, but we'll have to sit on the side that doesnt leak, LOL.

ooohhhh I am coming too. I shall bring Thor and Speckles (SLW) she loves spaghetti and Thor needs to see his Daddy in person and know what I expect from him.

How about this idea? Y'all come on up here near the end of the summer to our place. We should have the porches on the new house by that time, and plenty of room for all of our feathered friends to have a grand old time! And I promise, that rotten dog will be long gone by then, Great Spirit willing!

Picture this with big porches running the full length of the house, a nice lawn and maybe even some deciduous trees in the yard just for shade:

I think there would be enough room for just about everyone, don't you?

I'll even be more than happy to turn all of my feathered guest loose in either of the two completely fenced in gardens to gorge themselves on every kind of veggie goodness known to chicken kind!

ETA: We're growing Spaghetti Squash this year. Does that count toward the Spaghetti issue?
