Mixed breed easter eggers and poofy headed assortment.

I like the sound of the poofy headed assortment =) when might you have chicks or extra eggs available? I would be very interested, my mother and brother are so fond of my one polish chick so she'll need some friends with head gear to run around with in the orchard eventually when she's grown =)

Isn't that the truth.
I'm still working on predator proofing and completely redesigning a building to get adults out of the brooder house so I can get chicks out of the cellar.
If I had more room and time, I'd raise CLs.
I'm going to a chicken swap Saturday and though I'm collecting eggs for the HAL, I may sell a dozen or so there.

I love a good swap =) what eggs are you going to bring along to that? I am just curious =) ooh and what are you hoping to get? =)

After having raised over 30 breeds, I'm down to my favorite. I don't have enough time or space to do justice to more than one breed. (although there are several I'd raise if I was able.
I have a single Ameraucana left from 2009 and every other bird on the place are Black Penedesencas. I have bee hatching a handful of the Ameraucana eggs for Olive eggers.

Just pulled my Blue roo last night and sent him to a new home so I wouldn't wring his neck, lol... he got too aggressive... put my Lav cockerels in today, they are still kinda young, but will see soon if the got the goods, lol...

I candled my 8 CL eggs last night. 7 are developing well and one looks like it might be clear but my flashlight I used isn't that great (my good one has dead batteries). I have a BCM hen that is being persistent about being broody for days now so I think I might slip these partially developed eggs under her and let her do the rest. I have never given a hen partially developed eggs before and she is a nasty little thing right now Im afraid she might peck and egg while going for my hand. Maybe I should take her off her nest and then place the eggs and let her get back on?
