. I've taken every picture I have posted in here. I wish I had more, but am running low now. You all will know when I have ran out...got something stupid in mind to post....lol. ...unless I hurry and get to the zoo, which I plan to!

Very nice pictures! Thanks for adding them in! I can look at animal pics all day...and do if I'm not looking at my own real animals!!!

I wish we had elephants. *longing sigh*

. I felt sorry for the elephant in that last two pics I posted! It acted like it just wanted to die....

....it seemed very sad. I watched it for quite awhile. I won't be able to type what I mean on how it acted to make me think that.

The zoo out here had elephants for the longest time - then went thru a spell of losing some from mysterious causes. They finally had only one left and sent her to another zoo so she wouldn't be miserable without the group.
After seeing groups(families) of elephants on National Geographic etc. you realize how intelligent they are and so family oriented. It seems a crime to keep them in captivity. I was especially moved by how they grieve over the death of another., and how they examine skeletons of others in the wild.

When one was lost at our zoo (Brookfield) in Chicago area - they allowed the others to view the body. They were so human-like in their approach and visibly relieved to see what had happened to their comrade instead of just having it disappear.
