If the power goes off, I can go home. Right? I have temporary fencing while I wait on the contractor. It blows over and the chickens visit the neighbors. The neighbors don't like chickens in their flowers. They don't mind eggs.

Lacy walked like she had a basket ball between her legs, which I guess she did. She also wasn't very hungry and was sitting often. I pet her once and she pecked me, not normal for her.

A little follow-up on why I gave my hen calcium when she was egg bound. 1st I read on this site that it sometimes works. 2nd I went into the vet with my dog, whom I suspected of eating too much chicken poop. I asked Doc what he thought of the calcium. He told me he didn't know about chickens...

One of my dh's houdan hens has very muddy head feathers. I'm concerned about her health & welfare. I don't know how to clean her up.

I'm not sure if I should post this here, but here goes anyway. Another Houdan had a bad cross beak. Now we have 13 chickens, 2 of which are Houdan hens. One has gotten her head feathers all muddy. I tried sponging them. It did do anything but make her wet. Any ideas?
