Funky Feathers, I am not a big fan of photo critiques. First because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings if I don't like a photo and second just because I like something does not mean it is the only way to see something.. Also, I would rather hear why or what called some one to one of their...
Funky Feathers,
I would like to hear what you like in all the photos you posted; what do they say to you? what is the story you feel they tell? that kind of thing
a "good" birding lens is NOT cheap.
But there are options:
in the Canon line up, look at the 100-400-nice lens, but a tad slow (aperture) the 300mm f4 IS (I have this one) and then the $$$ lenses 300mm2.8, 400mm and 500mm
This one looks interesting too...
Wish me luck!
I am shooting a wedding tomorrow. First one in a couple of years, or more. Thankfully a very small, very private wedding of a friends daughter.
I have a second shooter-my guy, so less stress and the bride likes him already (he knows how to get her to smile extra pretty) and he...
No photos from me right now............cause I am busy working on converting the OLD garage in to a "vintage" photo studio!
After 4 days, we have all the junk out of two garages, still have piles of hazmat to deal with and then finally clean and paint the interior of the old garage. It is...
Great shots, race photography is fun.
I shot a lot for my bosses 410 sprint car team, but not lately, economy....you know how that is. And thankfully not a lot of hiking for that one.

Besides the cost savings, the weight on the f4 makes it easy to put in the pack. I have a "glass taxi" bag that I like cause I can put the 70-200 and 300 on bodies and hike around.
Cute duck shots, I was SOOO bummed when we got our baby chicks. I had a ton of photo shoot ideas ready and...
Iheartchicks<3 :
anybody have any constructive criticism for my pictures on page 81?
If you have ever taken a photo class, critiques can be kind of harsh. Or end up reflecting only the critiquers style
Personally, not a huge fan of them, but I do enjoy hearing what the photographer was...
I dumped these off the card and on to my website last night (no time for editing right now) But thought you all might enjoy
Sorry, I thought the link to the gallery would pop in the photo...but no...

Of course there is always ebay and craigslist. I get a lot of good bulky stuff from craigslist, light diffusers, weight bags etc. It does help me out that I live in a big...

In all seriousness, when I asked a professional about the difference between Nikon and Canon, he said it was all about what you're photographing. Canon's tend to pick up red's a little better and Nikons tend to pick up blue's a little better, which means, as he explained it, that...
Remember that a camera is a tool. It is not the tool that has the skill to create art, it is the eye behind the camera.
That being said, it is a lot easier if you have good tools.......................
Canon 7d, 16-35mm f2.8 lens, yesterday at Yosemite National Park-snowshoes helped too!
