I'm so very sorry, Froggie. She had a sweet face and was so pretty. I lost one of my girls to the same thing this spring. Wish there was a way to prevent that. It happens too often.

It sounds like you are doing everything right to keep them cool. Those misters are lifesavers. We have had that heat the past 2 summers. This summer has not been that bad so far, but unfortunately we still have a couple more months in which it could and likely will get that way. Since I only...

    American serama thread!

Hatched yesterday at 5:22. Waited until the end of day 21, after I had almost given up all hope. The only survivor of 10 shipped Serama eggs. Don't worry, the temp is running 94-95 degrees - my white thermometer is off by a little. It is a little doll. My very first incubator hatch and my very...

    Beginner's Hatch-A-Long

How adorable they are! My one Serama is pipping this afternoon, day 21, right as I was about to give up hope. Seramas usually hatch day 19-20. I am so happy and am thanking the Lord for one baby out of my 10 shipped eggs.

Tomorrow begins lockdown for my two remaining Serama eggs, one of which is 99.999 percent surely a quitter, the other is looking good.

How is she today, Robin? I just wanted to tell you something that seemed to help back when I had a sniffly Serama. I used a cool mist humidifier with Oxine in the water right next to the cage (indoors) and closed the room to keep the mist in. I believe it was a quarter cup of it in a full...

Brinsea Mini Eco: humidity & other things

I just started my first eggs in my new Brinsea mini eco on April 28. I had worked with it awhile before putting the eggs in to see what it did. I didn't know what that black plug thing was either, so I called the company. They said leave it in. It is only there because in the mini advance...

Babies only developing on one side of the egg

Thank you , that is great! It gives me some hope. I need my lopsided egg to hatch, because there is only one other, out of 10, that is developing, and I don't want to only have one alone.

    Beginner's Hatch-A-Long

Hi everyone! I want to join in here if I may. This is my first time incubating eggs, and I have a new Brinsea mini eco which seems to be working great, as far as holding temp and humidity. I set 10 shipped Serama eggs on Sunday, April 28 for a hopeful hatch day of around May 18. Due to loose...
