@Miss Lydia - Oh wow how scary! I will have to look for those bags or maybe even make my own traps.
That's a good point. Lol I'm gonna go tell Awesome he's attracting flies and needs to think about where he poops! XD
@Miss Lydia - The one I got is basically a sticky tube. I was looking for fly tape or even those bags but that was all the store had. Probably not worth it but I thought I'd try it anyway. I clean their house everyday too but still have quite a bit of flies.
@avess - What pretty runners you have! I'm new to ducks and don't know much about their colors/genetics so I'm not sure how accurate I am...But it looks to me like you have a blue, a black or possibly chocolate it looks a little brown in the picture, and a silver.
That's one of my...
@caboodleschicks - Thought so, he is stunning! I've gotta get me one of those, I just love the spots!
@Ducks4us - Awww that's so sweet! How tall are they now?
@Sarkchick - Thanks so much! I can't wait either. And no, Beau is a miniature Australian Shepherd :) You have heelers?
@Miss Lydia - Yes! :3 That's how I ended up with eight....we couldn't pick which colors we liked the most. So we got two of every color Metzer's had to offer.
@caboodleschicks - Omg they're so cute! I love them! Happy Two Weeks! c: Is the spotted duck a runner too?
@Ducks4us - Oh...
@Miss Lydia - In the video they got scared 'cuz my dog ran over to us pretty quickly lol. That was when they all ran into the corner where I was standing. He's a herding dog so when they ran he started circling the cage. They're just not used to that lol they're used to him being a lump on...
@Ducks4us - Thanks! It's supposed to be 75 degrees but it looks like it might rain. I'll find something to block off a section of the yard for them. We have a fenced in area but it's chain link and they will almost definitely get through that.
When can I take my runners outside to free-range? Mine are two weeks old today, I bet they'd love the ample amounts of snails/slugs in my yard.
@Widlast - Wow, that's amazing isn't it? Mine are only two weeks old and I feel like they're huge!
Ok thanks guys, after I was told to get 22% I was second guessing myself lol Not that it would've been that big of a deal to get different food, but I want to make sure I'm feeding the right stuff. You really helped put my mind at ease!
Quick question guys, I bought 18% protein crumbles for the runner ducklings I have coming. Someone said that I should go for 22% for the first two weeks.
I know it probably shouldn't be treated like the duck bible, but Storey's Guide To Raising Ducks says 18-20%.
What percentage do you...
