DH says that about our duck run too! I can just fit under it (although that doesn't stop me from whacking my head on the door every time I walk through it)...it's about 2" to short for him...he says he has hardware cloth imprints on his head. Lol
For two weeks we got 5-6 eggs a day (6 girls). For the last 4 days we have gotten 4...wandered around their typical part of the yard today...nothing...wondering how many could be at the bottom of the pond. Will they eventually float if there are any down there?
My girls have been pretty consistently laying 6 eggs a day, but Lily our Pekin has started laying these huge monster eggs (my not-super-accurate scale says 4 oz). I wonder if I let that one hatch if a full grown duck would pop out?
(The brown one is the last of my friend's chicken eggs that...
Hahaha
When I read the first one my brain translated it to quiches. When I read yours my brain translated it to quickies...and I had a very odd/bad pic in my head of what you got when you googled that!!!
Slice of toast, slice of Monterey Jack, some spinach sautéed with onion and garlic in olive oil and a poached egg on toast: quite possibly my family's favorite dinner. yup! I think I know what we are having for dinner!!
Little boogers. Spent two days scrubbing out the duck house. Dragged an entire winters worth of poopy straw out, scrubbed the floor, dried it all well, wiped down walls and ceiling, washed the window...thought "awesome, no poop covered eggs for a few days at least!" They apparently don't like...
My babies are laying again! Celebratory happy dance!! I'm sure it's Lily (the oldest of the bunch and a pekin), hopefully she shows everyone else it's warm enough to start again! And somebody's moulting...yeesh! It looks like someone killed a duck in my backyard right now. Lol
Y'all are makin' me SO jealous. No eggs yet. No mating. Your eggs all look so beautiful! I am hoarding my last dozen for my chicken egg allergic son.
Of course, even if they did lay they'd be egg-cicles by morning...-25 with wind chill. Brrrr
The egg laying stopped during our first well-below zero weather in January. Not an egg since then. I am hoarding those last few eggs for my chicken egg allergic son.
