only 23-25 more days!! at least for the first two.. another 10 days after that for the other three... They are losing weight but they are impossible to candle soooo... in another week or so they are supposed to wiggle if you set them on the counter so maybe we will try that...
We finally got power in the barn!!! We got our interior fences finished this fall... The well is in, pump installed.. just waiting on the inspector to sign off on it so we can bury the pipe to the barn... Won't know what to do with myself with power and water at the barn!!! I won't miss...
You can also get SBEL from a true ameracauna over leghorn hens... My first ones should be starting to lay in a month or so.... If you want some eggs to hatch in the Spring.. let me know
If you know of anyone looking for a variety of pullets, I have about 18 left... They are between 18-20 weeks are are just starting to pink up and a couple have started laying. they are all pure bred but a bunch of breeds.. I think I have at least one left of the following:

No baby yet... we spent a couple hours at the hospital last night but...... anytime now.. LOL
Out of my 9 baby guineas and the 9 sbel chicks that the two guinea mommas adopted, 8 and 8 are doing great! They are two weeks old already and doing great... The 4 older sbel project chicks are doing...
So my 3 guinea hens that were brooding across the road under a tree at the neighbors came home yesterday with nine little chicks... YEA!!!
BTW... Mama guinea hens are 10 times as protective as chicken mamas!!! My neighbor came over to help corral them wearing shorts and went home bloody LOL...
Yes he got home safely and is now future king of the roost over all my ameracauna and leghorn girls... He has been christened Biscuit by the kids for some reason...

When we went out to do chores tonight we found Porter, our Great Pyrenees had died. I believe he was poisoned... Has not been a fun night... wish we lived out there so...
