The funny part is that I live in North Dakota but I'm from Pennsylvania I haven't been back in about 20 years now, and honestly, the deer ticks and Lyme scare me. We don't have that stuff here (yet).
Do they tolerate cold? I mean, can they make it in a dry coop free from drafts without a heat source in the winter. Looks like you are from Pa. so you should know. I have heard something about chick die-off at about the two week mark. Hopefully your crossbreds should be hardier. What kind of crows are you getting?
Totally winter hardy mine went through 20 below O with no problem. I use medicated chick feed and have no problems. When you first hear the crow of tomaru it reminds you of the howl of a wolf
