Love the look of this! Some idea of the cost to build or what you would do differently (if you were to do it over) would be interesting. I would think building the coop and run on such a steep slope would be tricky, anything special you had to do to build there?

Was really interested in reading how a circular coop was built but this article only shows the final coop. It would be nice to see actual build pictures, some photos of the interior and a cost estimate for the project.

The article gave good information on how to re-create this feeder and the photos were helpful. The plexiglass window was a great addition!

This looks like a nicely built, sturdy coop. Wish there was more information on how it was built, materials list, cost, etc.

Great re-use of a swing set (and lots of other materials)! The photos were good and I like the family involvement aspect of the article.

Terrific coop build! I like that it's roomy, the shelf for supplies is convenient and using the fence pickets was a great idea.

Some good general info. Based on personal experience, hanging shiny objects did not discourage the hawks I've encountered. A covered run is best with plenty of hiding places for the chickens to get under when free ranging. Another thing that worked well for me was to become aware of when hawks were most likely to be after my birds...early morning and late afternoon were hawk-intensive times for me so I only free ranged my birds at other times.
