There a number of great treats for chickens, here we are naming some popular ones!

1. Meal worms
Meal worms are a healthy treat and they love them! They are easy to raise and the cost very low! If you raise them yourself you can get more info at the bottom of the page!

2. Fruit
Almost any fruit is good for chickens. Mine seem to like strawberries, watermelon, blueberries, pear, tomatoes, apples, and grapes! You can give them strawberry tops in the spring and summer. Watermelon rinds in the summer, blueberries, apples, and pears all year round! But the fruit chickens can't have is anything citrus, as in Oranges, Grapefruit, pineapple ect.

3. Oatmeal
Mmm warm oatmeal on a cold day! I give them this in the winter when there cold and hungry, they absolutely love it. It could be fed cooked or raw but cooked is nutritionally better.

4. Yogurt
This is a fun treat to give your flock. It is so funny to see them eat it! Plain is best for them, but flavored is fine to. The yogurt is great to help with the chickens intestine.

5. Pumpkin/Squash
Both seeds and flesh are a nutritious treat. Instead of throwing out your pumpkins after Halloween and Thanksgiving give it to your chickens! It saves you from bring the smelly thing to the dump and it is a great way of DE-worming the chickens also!

6. Pasta
Is a favorite treat, fun to watch them eat it, but not much nutrition. It should be cooked not raw!

7. Sunflower seeds
A healthy choice of treat for your flock. It is fine to feed them with and without the shell on. The seeds help growing healthy feathers, helps with laying, and makes happy chickens!

8. Left overs
Only feed your chickens that which is still considered edible by humans, don't feed anything spoiled, moldy, oily, salty or unidentifiable.

9. Eggs
Feed cooked eggs only! Because you don't want to have your chickens eating there own eggs. It can be scrambled and hard boiled. This is a great way for protein!

10. Cucumbers and other veggies
My chickens LOVE cucumbers, peas, and tomatoes! They don't eat salad and other green veggies without seeds because I free-range them and they are used to the green. But if you don't feed them green very much this is a great treat!

11. Cereal
Cheerios ect. Avoid highly sugared cereal such as Coco puffs, Chocolate Cheerios, etc.

12. Bread
Any bread is good for your chickens. It isn't very nutritional but chickens Love it. If you have stale bread or rolls a great way to use them, is by feeding them to your chickens.
