My first hatching experience Sad update page 9

WE HAVE 15 BABIES!!!!!!!

I took a shower and steamed up the bathroom, moved the babies to a plastic tote and re-set the eggs without any significant humidity loss.

One of the green eggs pipped upside down, but is alive, moving and cheeping
One of the Cuckoo Maran eggs is a day behind, so no activity yet
One of the Buff Orpington mix eggs has pipped (a while ago) but no other activity

I didn't see any noticable pips on the other two green eggs, but so far they have been slowand still healthy hatches, so they may hatch yet!

That big one in the back looks like one of your EE x Buff babies, Chicky Tocks --- very big and duck-looking, but with a puffy face!!!

This pic deserved it's own post. The remaining eggs:

I tilted the upside down pipper so that his nose isn't on the bottom of the carton. I can see the beak and he is breathing, peeping a little, and acting fine, probably just absorbing and resting.
Also JUST since I re set the eggs, the brown egg in the background has flaked off some more shell and seems to be starting to zip, so I bet it will make a successful hatch too!

the Buff egg hatched this morning, and the upside down EE is slowly zipping!

The Marans egg pipped pretty low too....no activity from the other two EE eggs.

I took all the eggs and put them on their sides, due to the low pippers. They have the Buff guy in there to "encourage them" heheheh
I stuck a couple of hot wet sponges in there to steam the humidity back up fast for the little ziper. So far so good.

Upside down EE baby: Seems weak, but will probaby make it

He is resting. No blood or oozing yolk or anything, so I think he will make it. Poor little guy

The little weak guy rested up while I was gone to work. He was standing tall and sticking his little beak up to the incubator windows when I checked on them, so I decided to pull them out when I took a shower. I only have one remaining pip - the Cuckoo Marans who started incubation a day behind so she's right on schedule and appears healthy thus far.
I candled the two EE eggs because something was smelling and I didn't want an explosion. One of them hadn't grown since lockdown so I cracked it. Link here, but only click if you want to see the pix https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=312465
The
other I couldn't see a darn thing in (all dark, full, not clear) so maybe it still has hope I put it back in the bator for now. The smell must be coming from the hatch gunk that needs cleaning out, but I can't clean till everyone hatches so....bleh.

Anyway, the little upside down EE has turned into a chipmunk pattern. He has a belly button of sorts, but the skin is healed up and smooth, no blood or ick showing, so I put him in with his hatchmates.
He's right in the middle:

And ONE of them is cheeping up a storm, the demanding sound. If they were all doing it I'd think they were cold or something, but it's one lone chick throwing a fit about who knows what. Darn little booger!!
