i dont think he is a splash....he appears to be incredibly overcolored. any chance you have more pics of him closer up from different angles? might help identify whats goin on with him a bit easier

Not sure what that is in the back. NOT a splash. Looks more like my rock pullets for body type.. does not look like a marans roo at all. I think it is a cross but with what IDK.

( BTW - Marans with an S singular or plural)

Hey, I have a couple questions for whoever can answer! I'm really interested in breeding Black Coppers from a cross of Bev Davis and Wade Jeane's lines. Would this make a good cross, or would getting just Bev's be better? Also how well do these guys lay? I've heard lots of different numbers but I think I could get the most accurate answer here. I'm trying to decide between Partridge Plymouth Rocks and the Black Coppers. I think the deciding factor will be if the Marans can lay as well as the Rocks, cause if they can I'd much rather have them. Thanks in advance for any info anyone could give me!

Wow, cute little buggers! I thought chick #1 and #6 might have been a little lighter than the others. But its hard to tell from this side of the Computer :)

Pink, I notice the color sticky banding. If you dont mind me asking, what does it pertain to?

OK, stoopid post.
I felt bad for having a Clyde, when there already is one.
And I know I can't name any roos Bill.
I have a few that seem to be keepers, (for now, at least) and I always have to name my birds.
Are there any other names that are already taken, so I know what NOT to name?
I didn't think I would have this problem so soon, but there are a few lookers, and now they are starting to try out their roosterness!
So before I make any decisions......

And good morning, everyone!
