    Can you use ashes from an outside fire pit for a dust bath?

    I am trying to figure out what to put in my dust bath & I read that you should add ashes from a wood fire place, so I was wondering if I could add some ashes out of my dad's big fire pit outside? He mostly burns yard stuff put occasionally paper. Or should I just stick to a wood fireplace ash?

    my broody silkie hen has white specks all over her face. Is that lice?

    I was just holding my broody silkie & noticed she had all these tiny white things on her face. Does anyone know what that is? If it's lice can I get it from her? I am a first time chicken owner so I'm not really familiar with this.

    ok i just went out there & picked her up & there isn't even an egg. She was making this weird crying noise & even when we put her on the ground it took her a minute to snap out of her trance. That was the weirdest thing i have ever seen. It broke my heart.
