Hi, Michelle. I had this same issue a few months ago with one chick. Unfortunately, she kept getting worse, and finally gave up. I hope this isn't the case for you! I couldn't really find anything to explain, but it was literally like an air balloon in her chest. I hope for the best!

Last week we sadly had our first intruder murder all our 13 chickens... blah. So disappointed. We hadn't had a chance yet to put the netting over the run, and a raccoon ( I assume because the chickens heads were pulled off, well, the two bodies left). We had another flock we sold a couple years...

I'm fairly certain it is not the crop... however, there is a chance. I have felt an impacted crop before, and this is definitely not that-- it is truly like a balloon, or air pocket, in her chest?!?! Never encountered this and not sure what to do And, thanks! I'm glad to be here
