4 of my hens have died within the space of 3 days

I had given my friend a pair of my Barred Plymouth, six months later he brought the cockerel back and asked if he could swap with one of my other cockerels as he was not attempting to mate. I swapped him over and even though he looked absolutely fine, within the week, he was dead in his pen one...

Is this a disease or just moulting? (photos)

Thank you so much for that tip. I would've wasted so much as have about 30 birds to do. This is why I love this website - help is always here!

Is this a disease or just moulting? (photos)

Thanks for that. On the mite powder I have here, it says 3g per chicken - does it need to be that exact? If it was more, could it harm the chickens?

Is this a disease or just moulting? (photos)

One of my cockerels started to loose his feathers and I don't know if he has a disease, a protein deficiency or is moulting. I didn't think it was moulting because I thought it went on too long for moulting and also he seems to stagger slightly when he walks. But now the other chickens that...

Can I trim my cockerel's broken wing?

Thanks for that. Yes, he is a Light Sussex - looking a bit bedraggled at the moment, but he's lovely.

Can I trim my cockerel's broken wing?

One of my cockerel's broke his wing, no idea how. Tried to tie it up at the time, but he pecked at it until it came off. He's actually quite happy after a couple of weeks recuperation but the broken wing drags slightly on the floor. Could I trim the bottom bits that he trips over? He's got...

Fixing a broken wing on my rooster

I've completely assumed it was broken, but I have been wondering how on earth he broke it. Although, we have had gale force winds here and I thought maybe he'd been blown into something. I found him on his back in the pen, unable to turn over, so I separated him from the others and brought him...

Fixing a broken wing on my rooster

I've looked on here and followed instructions for a broken wing. My rooster is now moving around like he's drunk, will he get used to it?

Drained a Hen, First Time in Years....Removed 660 cc Yellow Fluid RIP, HOPE *GRAPHIC PHOTOS ADDED

Thanks. Ahh, they're lovely. My husband wants to get some Buff Orpington. Not easy to get special breeds here, so we bring the eggs over from England. I will be interested in the conclusion when Hope passes. My Barred rooster is my favourite of all my chickens - love him - he's huge.

I was looking for stuff on scaly legs and came across your post - what an amazing hen, so strong.

Suggestions for a good article to read on incubation

I have incubated several times in my Brinsea OvaEasy and my hens have also successfully sat on eggs.....however.... my success rate is not that great considering the amount of eggs I have put in the incubator at one time. I always get chicks hatch, but lots that don't. So I've decided this...

Our 3 week old Emu died.....any ideas why???

Sorry I hadn't seen your reply before. They didn't show aggression but they didn't really let him in the gang :-( Hopefully with this next lot, at least 2 or more will hatch.
