    Serious bullying problem

Oh no! I hope someone has a solution for you. We have 6 Lavender Orpingtons that are 4 weeks old and 13 keets that are a week old (chicks in coop with heat lamp at night and keets in stock tank with brooder plate and heat lamp just outside coop area). I hope they will all be of similar size...

    How long in brooder?

Thank you! I'm watching this thread because I have week old keets in a brooder with a brooder heat plate and a heat lamp. They are thriving but I worry so much. From all I've read, they are so fragile! They are in a stock tank with wire above. I'm sure they will start flying when I'm not ready!

    The Wyber Coop

This is our coop in progress. It's an 8X12 wood shed with a wire partition so part is for storage. We attached a covered 8X12 run we bought at Tractor Supply. (Love that store!). We connected it to the shed/coop with a wire 'breezeway' that hubby riffed with metal flashing. The coop portion is...

Tweek and Celia's chicken Adventure! We had a very beautiful chicken that we rescued. Hungry, weak, homeless. Brought it home, fed it good, fell in love (including our Yorkie Mix). It was a young cockerel but No spurs, low comb and no crowing. ( I really thought he was a hen!) Then he was...

FREE chicken coop plan (nice one too) on the Purina Mills Website

Check for materials on Craigs List. We got a bunch of FREE!!! panels. 3 1/2 X 3 1/3' reinforced with furring strips. They were wooden boxes to transport automotive parts. All we will need for our "new and improved" (and bigger) coop will be some roofing and wire. A new coop will hopefully cut...

We lost one of our two Brahma hens on Wednesday. Maggie got sick and died in two days. I guess I am glad she went so fast and didn't suffer. I have no idea why. She looked "droopy" and dehydrated. Treated her and Edith with Agrimycin. Had to give it to Maggie by a dropper. Edith "cried" so bad...

Our 3 new chicks are really doing great. I was very leary of raising them from so young an age. Tweek just can't get enough of them. He is really in awe of the whole deal! Our yorkie, Missy, is pretty thrilled too. She sniffes them then lays down next to them and watches. If they peep, she...
